Welsh and Spanish college partner on outdoor education
This week, delegates from IES Son Rullan College in Majorca strengthen their partnership with Coleg Sir Gâr, Gower College Swansea and The College Merthyr Tydfil on their South Wales visit.
Following on from a previous learner exchange, the college Principal and three practitioners from Spain are keen to explore outdoor education teaching methodologies in Wales. Engaging in outdoor activities themselves as they travel around, they also hope to expand the staff and learner mobility opportunities and exchanges around outdoor education between Wales and Spain.
Wales is committed to developing state of the art sport facilities, and this visit coincides with the opening of Yr Efail / The Forge, which is Coleg Sir Gâr’s brand new physical activity and performance space. Officially opening Yr Efail earlier today, The Minister for Welsh Language and Lifelong Learning Eluned Morgan congratulated Coleg Sir Gâr on realising the vision of creating an innovation space where sport and performance comes together for the benefit of learners, staff and the wider communities.
